NOTICE!! Our country is going through a time like no other! Major sports, concerts, even the world Olympics have been cancelled. We have so many plans and new things for our 15th anniversary year, we are not going to cancel until we see how things are going.  The virus is expected to peak within the next two weeks and then it is expected to decline. We are hanging in there with a “wait and see” optimistic attitude.  We have 10 weeks to work, many things are already set, including fireworks, bands, etc. As soon as the state tells us to resume normality we will hit the ground running in order to bring this family festival to families who will most likely be more than ready to have some fun family time!  Our prayers are with all of the nation, those who are sick, those who have been lost… Thank you for your support of our local businesses  and for  your past patronage of USA Days! Keep your distance, wash those hands, stay safe!  We hope to see you in June!  Stay tuned!

State of Ohio Sanctioned Kids’ Tractor Pull!

Back this year to the Heart of Ohio USA Days Festival on June 20th will be a the State Sanctioned Pedal Tractor Pull for kids ages four through 11. Registration begins at 5 pm and pulling competition begins at 6 pm. Ribbons will be given to all participants and trophies to the top three places in each age group.  All children pull for free.  The top three will then be able to participate in the State of Ohio Pedal Full finals at the Hartford Fair in Croton in August. The top winners there would go to the National Pulls at the Corn Palace in South Dakota this September. Our first year we had a four year old who went to the Nationals!  Last year we grew with many more pullers so we hope to see this event grow every year!

Adults 12 and above may also pull once the children are finished but this is at a $5 fee each with “bragging rights” as the prize!

This great event is special due to it being sanctioned by the State of Ohio which does ensure the winners get to pull in the state and possibly national finals!   Open to both boys and girls, get there early to watch the fun and cheer for your favorite!  Good luck kids!

Rides! Midway!

New this year Carnival Time will supply various carnival rides for the smaller kids up to adults! There are also midway games and many fun things to see and ride!  Wrist bands may be purchased and the kids can ride all evening! We have many exciting rides and new things including a 150 foot slide, the Joker, the Himalayan, the Loop-O-Plane, Mini Ferris Wheel, Pirates’ Revenge, Sizzler, Scrambler and a kiddie train to name a few!  We are excited to welcome this great group who strive to give us a fun experience but also a safe one!

Main Street Decorating Contest!

Remember our Main Street Decorating Contest! Again this year all residents and businesses on Main Street are invited to decorate patriotically so visitors to our USA Days Festival will drive through our wonderful village and be treated to lovely decorations! We will hand deliver the flyers with all the info but basically you just need to decorate (we will find you!) and our judges will pick the $100 winner in both home and business! Judging will take place on Wednesday, June 17th and the sign will be put into place on each winner. We will also line the street with our mini flags as we did last year, thanks to Larry Cooperrider of our local Amvets Post 59! Let’s make Main Street festive!

Little Miss Liberty/Little Uncle Sammy Pageant!

With the Heart of Ohio Women’s Club disbanding, do not fear! We will still have the Annual Little Miss Liberty/Little Uncle Sammy pageant! It is for boys and girls ages 4, 5 and 6. In April forms will be going home with preschool, kindergarten and first grades in Centerburg Schools. Forms will also be available at the local post office, library and hometown market. We will be starting a bit earlier this year with the festival being pushed back a week sooner. Kids get money from grandparents, mom and dad, family, co-workers, neighbors, friends, etc. The boy and girl with the most money claim the title, will be crowned and then ride in the parade on Saturday, June 20th. They will also ride in the Farm Festival parade. All entries get gift packages, the only difference is the tiara for winning girl and Uncle Sam hat for winning boy! Some people put out cans for donations. We do not advise this, it does not work well or generate anything substantial, plus many have been stolen or emptied. The pageant will be held at 7 pm at the park on Thursday, June 18th. Last year’s winners crown the new ones. The parade is 11 am on Saturday, June 20th, at the Church of Christ. This is fun and the kids always look adorable in their red, white and blue/patriotic outfits! Questions, message us or call Candy at 740-501-6144! All money raised helps keep the festival coming, this year all new rides and the best fireworks in the area!

New this year! Costumed Pet Parade included in big Parade!

Hey kids! Something new has been added to the parade this year! A pet costume parade! Cash prizes to the pets judged with best costumes! Dogs, cats, goats, rabbits, sheep, pony, you name it! Dress it up and walk in the big parade! This should be a lot of fun! Speaking of horses, we had no horses last year which was very strange. We have cash prizes for best horses as well so come on back! Let’s make this parade bigger and better and the best one ever! Going to be one huge bang-up surprise! Nobody miss it! Parade is held at 11 am Saturday, June 20th. Line up at Church of Christ beside the high school. Get busy with those costumes!
